Wellness IV Infusion Shot

B 12 SHOT

Vitamin B12 shots can help prevent or treat pernicious anemia, reverse a B12 deficiency, and boost energy, metabolism, mood and memory. Vitamin B12 is a water-soluble B vitamin found naturally in a variety of foods, including meat, fish and dairy products. If you are a vegetarian or are experiencing tiredness, constipation, memory loss and reduced energy, you may want to consider B12 shots.

Absorption can be negatively impacted by conditions such as dysbiosis (microbial imbalance), erosion of the GI tract, acid suppressing medications, atrophic gastritis, pernicious anemia and alcoholism. B12 shots bypass intestinal absorption and directly enter into the bloodstream, significantly restoring optimal B12 levels.

B12 shots are the superior way to treat deficiencies because shots deliver B12 directly into the bloodstream. Shots give you the most effective treatment for ailments like pernicious anemia. Foods and oral supplements are not as effective in delivering optimal amounts of useable vitamin B12.

INFORMATION

Hydroxocobalamin

Hydroxocobalamin, also known as vitamin B12, is a vitamin found in food and is also used as a dietary supplement. Vitamin B12 helps the body use fats and carbohydrates for energy and make new protein. Many people take hydroxocobalamin to help with their energy levels or for other various health conditions. Some of these conditions include pernicious anemia, vitamin B12 deficiency, cognitive impairment, Leber’s optic atrophy, toxic amblyopia, or for cyanide poisoning. Most people get enough vitamin B12 through diet, but some require supplementation.

Vitamin B12 and vitamin B complex injections are popular options, largely because vitamin B12 deficiency is a well-documented fact in the American population. Vitamin B12 is a water-soluble vitamin that also contains a mineral called cobalt. You need this vitamin for various brain functions, as well as the production of red blood cells and DNA.

The only way to get vitamin B12 from food sources is to consume animal products. An estimated 90% of vegetarian, or vegan, men and women are deficient in vitamin B12.

Getting this essential nutrient through injections can help prevent fatigue, asthma, high blood pressure, diabetes, depression, insomnia, and much more. Many people incorporate these vitamin injections into their ongoing health routine.

Indications:

Hydroxocobalamin is indicated in patients with vitamin B12 deficiency, cyanide poisoning, pernicious anemia, Leber’s optic atrophy, chronic fatigue, toxic amblyopia, or cognitive impairment.

Side Effects:

  • Pain at injection site
  • Mild diarrhea
  • Itching
  • Feeling of body swelling
  • Low blood potassium
  • High blood pressure

Contraindications:

Hydroxocobalamin is contraindicated in people with low blood potassium, allergy to vitamin B12, or with an allergy to cobalt. Before using this medication, speak with your doctor or pharmacist about your medical history, especially of low potassium, gout, blood disorders (polycythemia vera), eye disorders (Leber’s disease), or other vitamin or mineral deficiencies.
If pregnant or breastfeeding, be sure to discuss the benefits and risks with your doctor.

Interactions:

Some products may interact with hydroxocobalamin. These include drugs affecting blood cell production (chloramphenicol, anticancer or HIV drugs) and other vitamin and mineral supplements (especially folic acid).

Certain drugs may also interfere with lab tests for vitamin B12 levels. This may cause false test results. If you are taking any anti-infective drugs, such as amoxicillin or erythromycin, make sure to let laboratory personnel know prior to testing.
